My Favourite Perfumes | My Full-Size Bottles, Testers & Wishlist!

Hi there! Welcome to my brand new blog. For my first post, I'd like to talk about perfumes (and scents). There's a bunch of reasons I love them; you obviously smell nice, but putting on a perfume in the morning just makes me feel so much more confident! I've been putting on perfumes on for as long as I can remember, but I only recently really got into it when I started working at a drugstore. I'm sharing stories and favourites in today's post!

I wish I could remember what my first perfume was, I really do. My guess is Cacharel's Anaïs Anaïs, but more on that later! I remember getting my mom's empty perfume bottles in my room, though. They'd all prettily stand there at the top of my wardrobe. It looked really lovely. I'm sort of wishing I'd kept the bottles now, just to see what my mom used to put on. But eventually they became so dusty and I changed my room and it just wasn't working anymore. I used to be all about keeping my perfume bottles, but I have no clue what I did with the ones I emptied!

I didn't have that many perfumes over the course of my life. I probably had some cheap ones I threw out because they didn't smell good or I didn't care about them (because I feel like that's something I'd do, lol!) but there's only a few I remember. The one I'm "most proud of" so to speak, was Nina Ricci's L'Air. I think I got a sample one day and I loved it so much that I asked for it for my birthday. I loved that bottle, but I can remember not liking the smell after a while. Another one I loved a lot was Taylor by Taylor Swift. I actually really wanted her first fragrance Wonderstruck, but I couldn't find it in Europe, so I never got it. I got Taylor from a German story (where they also sold Wonderstruck, I just couldn't smell it so I didn't get it.) I don't really remember what it smelled like, but I shared it with my mom and the bottle looked so fun! The perfume I remember using longest is Anaïs Anaïs, which my grandma used to put on. She gave it to me years ago when she moved houses and it's my favourite scent to date!

My "Current" Perfumes

At the moment, I have four full-sized perfume bottles on my vanity, and three testers that I recently got and love. They're in no particular order, since I don't really have one favourite.

Guess Seductive is the fragrance I feel got me into perfumes again. I work at a drugstore and this 75ml bottle is on sale for only €13,50 super often! Since I'm a cashier and lots of people were testing it, I kind of got obsessed with the scent, hehe! I didn't get it right away (even though I constantly wanted to get it, argh!) But I'm so happy I did! This eau de toilette will probably last me a long time and I totally don't mind. I feel like this is my go-to perfume at the moment because it was cheap and it's big. I know I won't be running out anytime soon!

I wouldn't really consider Yves Rocher's Quelques Notes D'Amour a favourite, but my mom got it for free (she's been a member for 13 years! Woah, goals!) and he gave it to me because she didn't like it at all. I can't really describe what the eau de perfum smells like, but I do quite like it! I guess it's just one of those that I wouldn't buy for myself, but it was a wonderful gift nonetheless. Like Seductive, this is my go-to scent because it's not super special to me and I wouldn't mind running out of it. It's "only" 30ml but I feel like it's last me quite a long time, which is great.

Alien by Thierry Mugler is my all-time favourite. I somehow got a sample a few years back, and when I was finished with that one, I somehow got another one! I went through two samples and I was heartbroken when I emptied them. It smelled so good! It's quite a pricey perfume, but I manage to grab a giftset with a reusable bottle, a body lotion and some other things for a great price (don't remember what it cost exactly, but it was below €40!) I emptied that bottle years ago and I constantly thought about having it refilled (because that Mugler Source is the best thing ever!) but I never did, until I recently decided I was going to do it. Somehow I mixed up bottle sizes when I went to ask how much it would cost, and I ended up picking up a new 30ml reusable bottle a few days later. Now I have two, but one is - unfortunately - a little broken because I tried opening it and did it the wrong way... (Pro tip: never mess around with perfume bottles!) I use this one quite a bit, even though I do try to use it sparingly! It's my favourite so I can't really resist most of the time, hehe!

Finally, I got Anaïs Anaïs by Cacharel a really long time ago from my grandmother. She had this in her bathroom at her previous house and everytime I'd sleep over at my grandparents and shower there and such, I got to put on a bit of the fragrance. It's such a wonderful memory! When she moved, she gave her 50ml eau de toilette to me and even though it's been nearly ten years since that happened, I still use that bottle! I thought I'd emptied it months ago, but then I picked it up and my mom told me it wasn't! I never put it on daily, so that's why it must've lasted me so long. Also, it still smells great! Since I'm not really getting to the bottom of the bottle, me and my mom got a 30ml bottle so we could share. It's probably a perfume I'll just get all throughout my life because of the memory it holds.

Testers & Samples

Honesty, testers make me almost just as happy as full-sized bottles. If they smell nice, obviously. I currenty have three on my vanity that I use every so often. (I'm trying to make them last as long as possible!)

I have Thierry Mugler's Alien Flora Futura and Aura. The guy at my favourite perfumer gave me a sample of Aura because I bought my reusable Alien and then asked me which other fragrance I'd like to try. Since I'd been excited about the 'new" Alien for a while, I asked for that one. They're both so wonderful! I actually think I might like Alien Flora a tiny little bit more than the 'normal' Alien. Aura is super different and I was scared it'd smell bad on me! Fortunately, it's only a bit heavy when you've just sprayed it on. Once it fades a little, it's actually wonderful! I don't think I'd get a full-sized bottle of Aura, but I hope to get Alien Flora Futura sometime because it's lovely.

Montblanc Lady Emblem is a tester I got sometime last year, I think, and smells lovely! I barely ever put it on since I'm way more excited about my other fragrances, but it's one I'd definitely consider getting full-sized. I just Googled the bottle and it's so pretty?!

Alien Flora Futura by Thierry Mugler is at the top of my wishlist. It just smells so, so good and the pink bottle is gorgeous. I feel like it's the perfect scent for summer!

My "struggle" as a cashier is remembering the many wonderful scents I smell throughout the day! A customer once asked to smell one of the 007 for Woman fragrances and it's been on my mind ever since that moment, but I never take the time to figure out which one I liked so much. They're also not as pricey as my "usual" perfumes, which is great! Now I just gotta figure out which one it was... hehe!

Even thought I mentioned I didn't like Nina Ricci's L'Air anymore when I finished it, I'd love to get it again sometime! The store I work at actually sells these bigger-sized bottles (I should probably check its size!) so I could always get it there, because I can't find it anywhere else anymore! I hate that I can't smell it before I buy it, though. What if I really don't like it anymore?!

That's it for my favourite parfumes! Do you wear perfume? What's your favourite?
