December ’17 TBR

The end of the year is near! I actually cannot believe it’s December. The year went by so quickly! I’m eight books away from finishing my Reading Challenge, and it’s actually going to be a challenge this year! Usually, I’d finished my Reading Challenge already, but I changed my goal twice this year. I’m actually really happy about it! Anyway, I still have ten books to read, so here’s what I’ll be reading in December.

The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli

This was Fairyloot’s November book and I really can’t wait to read it! It’s about a girl who slays dragons because of “a wicked deed she committed as a child” and it sounds absolutely epic. I was’t really into dragons before, but I actually cannot wait to pick this up!

Furyborn by Claire Legrand

Wheeeeeee! It’s my first physical ARC! Alright, it was included in the Fairyloot November box, but it’s still really exciting. Due to my location, getting physical ARCs is pretty much impossible with my stats, so it’s really wonderful to finally have a physical ARC on my shelf. Anyway, this is about two girls who both hold the power to save or doom their world… Except they live centuries apart from each other! This one sounds SO GOOD I literally can’t choose which Fairyloot book to start with…

Coldmaker by Daniel A. Cohen

The author emailed me about this book and described it as “a crossover fantasy centered in a blazing hot world where Cold is a physical, precious commodity.” And well, I was sold straight away. This just sounds so interesting! I was offered an ARC and I really couldn’t refuse. I feel like it’s a bit different from what I “usually” read, but I’m really excited about this one!

Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones

Wintersong has been on my TBR for ages, but I never make it a priority and read other books. It keeps reappearing on my TBRs and I really want to read it before the end of the year. It’s seems like the perfect book for Winter (hehe!) and I’m genuinely interested in the book, I just never picked it up!

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

I’m really going to run out of new books to read this month! It’s really crazy to think about. Since I’ll probably still need a few more books to finish my Reading Challenge, I’ve decided to read City of Bones again. I got the movie tie-in hardcover last year and I’ve been wanting to reread it ever since. I’m finally going to do it! It’s going to be so crazy to read the beginning of The Mortal Instruments / Shadowhunter Chronicles, but I’m sure I’ll love it.

If I managed to finish all of these, I’ll still have three books left to read in order to read 100. I’m quite sure I’ll make it, as I’m very determined and have lots of free time, but it’s a little intimidating, if I’m honest! I think I’m getting some books for Christmas as well, so I might finish one or two between Christmas and New Years. I don’t know what these last three books are going to be, but that’s fine! It leaves some room to pick books up on a whim, and it’s exciting!

What’s on your last TBR of the year? Which books do you really want to read before the end of the year?

  • Lara

Aaah! It’s almost the end of the year!! I can’t believe it… I have the opposite problem to you, I have too many books that I still want to read before the year is over. Buuuttt I’m doing quite a bit of travelling this month so hopefully I can sneak some extra reading in.

    • Ayla

Whaatt?! Nooo shhhh it can’t be the end of the year yet! Oh wait… it is *freaks out* ANYWAY, best of luck with your reading! Don’t pressure yourself too much, though, it’ll take the fun out of it. There’s still plenty of time to read books next year! 😉 <3

I actually can’t believe it’s December already!! Great books on your TBR, I am very curious about The Last Namsara and The Wintersong is also a book I want to read soon. On my TBR are Splintered by A.G Howard and I also want to read The Language of Thorns soon!

    • Ayla

It’s crazy, isn’t it? The year just flew by so fast! I haven’t heard of Splintered yet, but I’ll check it out soon (if I don’t forget, hehe!) I haven’t read anything by Leigh Bardugo yet but The Language of Thorns sounds soooo wonderful! <3

I’m so glad you liked The Last Namsara! I started it today and it seems really great so far! Can’t wait for Furyborn, either. They both sound so great!
