Waiting on Wednesday: The Becoming of Noah Shaw by Michelle Hodkin

Having your birthday on a Tuesday is probably the best thing. I mean, think of all the book releases! Seriously, I’m considering asking all the November 7th releases for my birthday just because we share a birthday, you know? Anyway, it’s not about me today, it’s about The Becoming of Noah Shaw by Michelle Hodkin! Somehow the cover of this book gave me Autumn vibes. Plus, since it’s an Autumn release, it fits perfectly with the Autumn theme on my blog this month!

A Waiting on Wednesday post wouldn’t be a real WOW post if I didn’t make a list of reasons why I’m anticipating this book so much, right? So here we go: five reasons why I cannot wait for The Becoming of Noah Shaw.

It’s a sequel to the Mara Dyer trilogy

The Shaw Confessions is a sequel trilogy to the Mara Dyer trilogy by Michelle Hodkin. I read all the books in only a few days last year and I absolutely LOVED it. I also have to admit I don’t remember all that much from it and I read them as eBooks on Scribd so I can’t read them again… Anyway, I cannot wait to read more about Mara Dyer from Noah’s perspective! This also brings us to the next point on my list…

Noah’s Perspective

I found out I wrote reviews for the Mara Dyer Trilogy, so it’s much easier to talk about this one, hehe! I loved Noah and his relationship wth Mara in the Mara Dyer trilogy. We all read it from Mara’s perspective, but now we’ll read it from Noah’s and I just cannot wait to see how it continues!

“This is what happens after Happily Ever After.”

This is a quote from the synopsis, and it just makes me SO EXCITED! I actually wrote a discussion post on Happily Ever After once! I’m so intrigued by Happily Ever Afters because it just doesn’t make sense to me when everything is right in the world of a YA character for the rest of their lives! I mean, they have at least like fifty years to leave! Will there be no drama? No evil villains? No neighbouring kingdom that suddenly decides it wants its neighbour’s throne?

The Mysterious Synopsis

Let’s talk about the synopsis some more. I loved the synopsises for the Mara Dyer trilogy, and the one for The Becoming of Noah Shaw is just like them! It’s all about how Noah shouldn’t trust Mara and how they will be force them apart by the truth of themselves. How crazy is that? I’ve always seen Mara as the good guy gal but… woah. I can’t wait to see why she shouldn’t be trusted!

Honestly you guys, this cover gives me THE FEELS. I don’t know why exactly, it just looks pretty darn epic to me. I loved the Mara Dyer cover so much, but I think I love this one just a liiiiitle bit more. I don’t always like having people on the cover of a book, but this one was just done perfectly.

About The Becoming of Noah Shaw

In the first book of the Shaw Confessions, the companion series to the New York Times bestselling Mara Dyer novels, old skeletons are laid bare and new promises prove deadly. This is what happens after happily ever after.

Everyone thinks seventeen-year-old Noah Shaw has the world on a string.

They’re wrong.

Mara Dyer is the only one he trusts with his secrets and his future.

He shouldn’t.

And both are scared that uncovering the truth about themselves will force them apart.

They’re right.

I read and LOVED the Mara Dyer trilogy and cannot wait to read this one. I’m desperate to get started on it but for some reason I still haven’t bought myself a copy…. I will though!

I don’t own any of the Mara Dyer books (yet!) I read them last year when I had an eBook subscription but never got the physical books! I still need to figure out whether I want them in hardback or paperback… haha! Can’t wait to pick the one up, tho!
