My Autumn Spotify Playlist

I always. always, always listen to music. Whether I’m travelling, reading, blogging or doing anything else. My headphones are quite literally glued to my ears and it has been that way for as long as I can remember. I sometimes try to make playlists for specific books, but it’s been a bit of a struggle lately. Anyway, I started creating this Autumn playlist last year and decided to pick it up again. Since I listen to this playlist a lot while reading, I thought it would be fun to share!

The length of the playlist is currently about 2,5 hours, but I’m constantly editing this playlist as I go! Whenever I find a new song, I’ll add it. If I don’t like something, I take it out! I love Autumn music because I feel like it’s really nice to listen to while reading a book. I don’t really have that feeling when listening to catchy summer tunes at all! Since there are currently about 40 songs on here, I decided to pick five favourites.

Hold Back The River by James Bay

Hold Back The River is pretty much the definition of an Autumn song to me. There’s more James Bay songs in the playlist, but this is probably my favourite. I suck at describing music so I’m probably just going to keep it at that, ha!

Kids Again by Artist vs. Poet

This is such a lovely song. I don’t think I know anyone who knows this one, actually! I sort of stumbled upon in at the end of last year and it’s been a favourite since then. It’s nice and calm and, like I said, lovely. This would be like the perfect song to listen to while walking through a beautiful Autumn-ish forrest.

Tongue Tied by Grouplove

I thought this playlist was only going to have dark-ish, deep, “heavy” songs, but then I found Tongue Tied on Spotify when I was putting together this playlist and I was like “This is the kind of song that makes me want to throw fallen leaves in the air and dance and run.” It’s kind of a happy song, it’s cheery. I love it.

Chasing Ghosts by Against The Current

I cannot put together a playlist and not but my favourite band in there, right? Theres’ a few of them, but I think Chasing Ghosts is the most fitting one. I mean, isn’t it spooky? Mua. Ha. Ha. I’m so not funny. This is the kind of “dark-ish, deep, heavy song” I mentioned earlier. Sort of. Honestly, at this point I don’t even know what I’m saying. I don’t know, I just really like the heavy-ish drum in this!

What’s Wrong by PVRIS

I absolutely love PVRIS (pronounced as ‘Paris’ if you didn’t know). I had a little trouble figuring out the lyrics so one day I just turned on the album, looked up the lyrics and read them as the songs played. I think What’s Wrong is my favourite. The entire band’s five is a little dark so it’s perfect for Autumn and it’s just my kind of music!

That’s it for my Autumn playlist! Let me know if you’ve had a listen and tell me your favourite Autumn song! I might just add it to my playlist. 😉

Yay, I love autumny playlist, although I don’t listen to music while I am reading, haha. I love Mumford and Sons, John Mayer is also perfect for autumn. I hadn’t heard of Against the Current before, but I really like the songs in your playlist! My favorite autumn songs (not necessarily autumn related, but I listen to them now) so far are:
Rich Love – One Republic, Younger Now – Miley Cyrus, The Tide is High – Atomic Kitten (memories, haha), Every Breath You Take – Denmark+Winter (cover), Your Song – Ellie Goulding <3

    • Ayla

OMG The Tide IS High is such a throwback song, I love it! I think I should still have that as a single CD somewhere… haha! I don’t know many of your songs, but I’ll definitely be checking them out! John Mayer is definitely perfect for Autumn, I only added one of his songs later when I remembered his songs. I’m so glad you like Against the Current!! It’s one of my all time favourite bands and I just love it when people discover them and like it, hehe! 🖤
