Behind the Books: September

Behind the Books SeptemberBefore I continue with my monthly personal update, I have some important-ish news to tell you guys! I’m taking a little break. You might have noticed how there was no Top Ten Tuesday post yesterday, and how my posts don’t show up on social media anymore. I explain it all in this post, but I felt like I needed to get this out of the way first. Now let’s move on to more fun stuff, like all the great stuff that has happened to me over the past month. Read all about it in my new Behind the Books post!

The Blog

July and August were great months for the blog. I had so much free time that I spend working that I had content that I was very happy with. Unfortunately, I ran out of content and time to create it! I tried working on my blog on the train while I was travelling, but it didn’t work out. During the weekend, I was too exhausted to do anything and I just wanted to read. I’ve published a whole bunch of posts without sharing them on my socials, so you might want to scroll down my blog feed! Some blog post I wrote in summer were published last week, and I do have some things in my drafts, but this will probably my last post for a while. I’m trying to still share photos on my Instagram, but so far it’s not really working out either. As you might know, I also tried doing videos! I loved doing them, but it’s not working out right now. I’m trying to do my #BookBabbleChat on Twitter again, but that’s also something for later.

A Personal Update

I’m my last Behind the Books post I told you guys it was my first day of internship at a publisher. It’s crazy to think how I’ve been there for a month already! I don’t ever want to leave, seriously! I’m so happy working there, it’s actually insane. I’ve also started going back to college once a week. I really don’t like it! I’d rather be at work, hehe!

Do you remember how I talked about wanting/needing a room closer to my┬áinternship? I found one! And I’m currently living there! As in, I’m sitting there right now writing this. I’m still going home-home (to my mom) at the weekends, but I’m during the week. Last week was really difficult, but I’m starting my second week and it’s going great so far!

There have been so many changes in the past few months, it’s absolutely insane. I’m still getting used to it all, and I need to prioritise. Internship and college come first, then my health, and then my blogs and social media. I don’t like it, but once I’m settled in and used to all these changes, it’ll only get better. I have so much more free time that I can use for the blog. I’m trying to reschedule posts that I haven’t published yet, so I have some fun reviews and posts coming up!

August/September Book Haul

I’ve gotten quite a few books over the past month! A few Dutch ones, like Mislukt by Iris Boter, the Dutch edition of A Court of Mist & Fury by Sarah J. Maas and I got the Dutch manuscript of The Graces by Laure Eve. Working at a publisher really has its perks, hehe! I also received some books I mentioned in my last Behind the Books post like Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater and This Savage Song by Victoria/V.E. Schwab! And I got The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater, because I could not wait to finish the Raven Cycle after finishing Blue Lily, Lily Blue. My preorder of Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas is coming on Friday, but I got myself the eBook when it came out last week! I just couldn’t wait to read it.

Currently Reading

I’m currently reading Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas! I do not understand how people have finished it so soon after its release. It’s so big!!! (Or long, since apparently, the book is smaller than Queen of Shadows…) I’m enjoying it so much! I just realised I can continue reading the book instead of the ebook this weekend, and I’m super duper excited!

Like I said at the beginning, I’m taking a little blogging break! I hope to be back soon, but I’m going to take as long as I need. Look forward to awesome things once I’m back!

Much love,
