July Wrap Up

I had a whole month off from college and work, which meant I had lots of time for reading! I read/listened to a total of 13 books this month!I had the whole month of July off from college, which means I had a whole lot of time to read! I’ve read 13 books this month, and that’s crazy! If it wasn’t for this wrap up, I’d probably forget what I read at the start of the month, it honestly feels like forever ago. I’ve read some very good books this month, listened to some audiobooks, and I also gave a certain book my lowest rating yet. Let’s just dive straight into the wrap up!

We Awaken by Calista Lynne
I got an eARC of this book in June and read it in one sitting this month! I’m so excited about this book and it was so good! I rated it 4/5 stars and I really think everyone should check this book out! The main characters deal with being both lesbian and asexual, which makes this a unique story!

Uprooted by Naomi Novik
Uprooted is a standalone Adult Fantasy novel, and it was such a change from my usual YA Fantasy reads! It took me much longer than usual to finish it, and it was quite difficult sometimes, but it’s definitely one of my all-time favourite books.

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
I only read the Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices at the start of this year, but when I started Lady Midnight, I realised just how much I actually missed the Shadow World! Lady Midnight is by far the best Shadowhunter book yet!

Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
I’m so sad about this book! It really just wasn’t for me, and I rated it 2 stars, which is the lowest I’ve ever rated a book! It wasn’t bad at all and I can see why people love it, it just wasn’t for me.

The Darkest Powers Trilogy by Kelley Armstrong
I ordered The Awakening off Amazon for like €4, but since it had been years since I read The Summoning, I decided to reread it! I was amazed by how good these books are, and I really liked the mental health stuff in The Summoning!

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
I renewed by Scribd subscription for a month because it was cheaper than getting an ebook I wanted, and the subscription comes with 1 credit for an audiobook, so I decided to listen to Everything, Everything! It was one of the first contemporaries that ended up on my TBR after I sorted everything out, and I’m so glad I listened to it because it was simply amazing.

The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare (& others)
Since I renewed my Scribd subscription, I had a few ebook “credits” left for the month! I’ve been wanting to read the Bane Chronicles for a while, so when I found it I got pretty excited and started reading right away!

Mara Dyer Trilogy by Michelle Hodkin
I’d get a free month of Scribd if I invited a friend who signed up, so my mom got two free months on Scibd, and I used her subscription to read the Mara Dyer trilogy! The first book has been on my TBR for a while and I decided to just binge the entire trilogy.

Wink, Poppy, Midnight by Genevieve Tucholke
I listened to the audiobook and I feel kind of meh about it, unfortunately. It was an entertaining thing to listen to, but I’m not too excited!

Current Reads
I’m currently reading A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas! I ordered it about a week ago and got the book and A Court of Mist and Fury yesterday. I cannot wait to read them!

Have you read any of the books I mentioned? Did you like them? What have you read this month?
