The Epic Reads Tag

The Epic Reads TagThe Epic Reads Tag was created by Epic Reads sometime in January 2015. It’s a YouTube thing, but instead of making a video, I’ll be answering the tag’s questions right here on my blog. Want to know which author I’d invite for tea? Or what book I’d save if my bookshelf caught on fire? Keep on reading!

If you could invite one author and one of their fictional characters to tea, who would you invite and what would you serve them?
Probably Jodi Meadows and her character Wilhelmina from The Orphan Queen/The Mirror King.  What I’d serve them? Probably a proper English High Tea, because I love that and I think/hope they will as well. (Or is it afternoon tea? In the Netherlands, we call it a high tea but the British confuse me, haha!)

What book do you wish the author wrote a prequel for?
Oh my gosh, this is so difficult! I do know I really want a sequel to The Mirror King (or more like a novella) but a prequel? I have no idea, most book’s/series I’ve read already have prequels!

Which two characters (not from the same book) do you think would make a good couple?
So “couple” is probably meant in a romantic way, but I’m making it a friendship couple! I think Meira from Snow Like Ashes and Wilhelmina for The Orphan Queen could be best friends. I even think their countries could be somewhere in the same world and I think they could really bond over stuff!

If you ran into your favourite author on the subway and only could say one sentence to them, who is it and what would it be?
I don’t really have one favourite author, but if I ran into any author I know, I’d say thank you for writing such amazing books.

What book made you a reader and why?
The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. It’s the first English book I read and it opened up an entire world of books for me! Dutch books were/are quite expensive, but English ones were much more affordable!

Your bookshelf just caught on fire! What book would you save?
Ahh! I can’t choose! I want to say City of Glass by Cassandra Clare because I absolutely love that one! But then I look at my shelf and see this beautiful hardcover copy of The Mirror King by Jodi Meadows and think “How can I ever let this burn?” So, is it possible to save two? Hehe… (Or more, because how could I let the Throne of Glass series burn to ash!?)

Which dystopian world would you want to live in if you had to choose one? Why?
Iléa from The Selection! As much as I love The Hunger Games, Divergent and Angelfall, those worlds are pretty messed up!

What is your most epic read of all time?
The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. The books are amazing and the series as a whole is just incredible.

Tell me, what’s your most epic read of all time?
